Welcome!
The Chaplaincy is a place to support students of Kiel University (CAU), Kiel University of Applied Science (FH), and Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design. This support happens through opportunities for prayer, study, reflection, socialising, creativity, retreat, accompaniment and financial assistance including scholarships.
We have a chaplaincy centre, a modern glass building called “Kirchenkai” (church quay), which also serves as a chapel at certain times, and we are an open, welcoming and friendly student community that embraces diversity. We hope you will find here a welcoming, relaxed and safe place, a home from home.
Fr Christian Dieckmann is the chaplain. Please feel always welcome to approach him if you would like to talk about your journey of life and faith or if you need (financial) support in difficult times. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about anything. Know that you are always welcome in the Chaplaincy and that there is always a good cup of tea available!
The Catholic Chaplaincy works closely with the Protestant Chaplaincy based on CAU campus.
Our weekly schedule (may vary during term breaks or on public holidays):
- Liturgy – Thursdays 7pm at the chaplaincy centre (Mass on most Thursdays, other liturgical forms on some occasions), followed by supper, socialising and other activities
- Study – Tuesdays from 10:30am to 5pm the chaplaincy centre is available to all as a coworking space
- Creativity – Wednesdays at 5pm the chaplaincy centre opens for everything creative (knitting, drawing, embroidering, or whatever you would like to do - or just chilling) and for a cup of tea and a chat

Sommerprogramm
Moin! Schön, dass du da bist.
Wir sind die Katholische Studierendengemeinde Kiel. Egal, ob du gerade nach den Prüfungen chillst, direkt schon wieder für die nächste Prüfung oder die lange hinausgeschobene Seminararbeit in der Bib sitzt oder gerade neu zum Studieren nach Kiel kommst - herzlich willkommen bei uns im Kirchenkai!
Vom 28. Juli bis 17. September 2025 sind wir in der Sommerpause. In dieser Zeit musst du aber nicht ganz auf die KSG verzichten: Immer donnerstags um 19 Uhr wird der Kirchenkai geöffnet für eine gemütliche kleine Runde zum Snacken und Chillen. Du kannst einfach so vorbeikommen. Der Coworking Space und das Strinken entfallen aber in dieser Zeit.
Ab dem 18. September 2025 startet wieder unser normaler Wochenrhytmus:
Dienstags kannst du dann wieder unser Raumangebot im Kirchenkai als Coworking Space nutzen - von 10:30 bis 17 Uhr.
Mittwochs ab 17 Uhr öffnet der Kirchenkai zum Strinken seine Türen, eine gemütliche, offene und kreative Runde.
Donnerstags gibt es um 19 Uhr den Gemeindeabend im Kirchenkai. Der Abend startet mit einem Gottesdienst und klingt mit einem Abendessen gemütlich aus.
Zu allen Angeboten kannst du einfach so vorbeikommen. Und wenn du Fragen hast oder einen Gesprächstermin vereinbaren möchtest, dann melde dich bei P. Christian.
